Productions Illusion Fabuleuse

A story-teller, creator and gatherer, Jocelyn is a founding member of Belzébrute, a theater group and of the OUF! Off Casteliers Festival, a festival dedicated to emerging puppet artists. He is one of the very few indigenous puppeteers in Quebec. As author, designer and performer, his works have been appreciated all over Canada and in France. The originality of his approach has earned him numerous distinctions, including the grand jury prize at the OFF/Festival Mondial des Théâtres de Marionnettes de Charleville-Mézière during Shavirez’s visit in 2013.

Mononk Jules, published by Éditions Hannenorak in 2020, marks Jocelyn's first steps into the world of literature. The documentary show of the same name won the Accès Culture award at the 2021 Rideau Prize. Since then, more than 100 performances have been presented across Quebec and Canada.

In 2022, Jocelyn Sioui presented the story Frétillant et agile, published by Hannenorak, a story that brings Auhaïtsic, an unlikely Wendat hero, to life. Created in collaboration with two musicians, an artist of sand, and a shadow puppeteer, this new show is currently touring in Canada.

In 2024, he unveils his first audio trail, SKAWANOTI, which recounts the history of the last indigenous village on the banks of the river in the Ahuntsic-Cartierville neighborhood in Montreal.

In September 2025, he published the novel Poisson d’eau douce with Éditions Hannenorak, which follows the story Frétillant et Agile. This was followed by a young adult novel, Tête pleine de feuilles, also published with Éditions Hannenorak.

Hybrid, mixed, infused with humor and fantasy, Jocelyn’s work, in a deceptively light tone, questions its origins and the collective memory. He attempts to piece together the fragments of a hidden history.
